Terms of Service

These are effectively the "rules" you must follow when using our bot.

Effective as of the 19th of May 2026.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Pandora Discord bot (the “Bot”), operated by the repository owner at https://github.com/thomasking-web/pandora (“we”, “us”, or the “Controller”). By inviting, installing, or using the Bot in any Discord server, or by interacting with the Bot via direct message, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract to use the Bot. If you are a minor under local law, you may use the Bot only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Services Provided

The Bot provides interactive features including but not limited to polls, trivia, games, giveaways, and moderation helpers (the “Services”). Services may change over time; we may add or remove features without prior notice.

4. Licence and Restrictions

Licence: Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Bot in Discord servers in accordance with these Terms and Discord’s Terms of Service and Developer Policies.

Restrictions: You shall not

  1. use the Bot to violate any law or third-party rights;
  2. attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the Bot’s code or hosted services;
  3. remove or alter any notices or attributions;
  4. attempt to extract the Bot’s authentication tokens or secrets; or
  5. attempt to overwhelm or attack the Bot or its infrastructure.

5. User Content and Conduct

User Content: You are solely responsible for all content you submit through the Bot (e.g., poll questions, messages, commands). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, and display such content solely to provide the Services.

Conduct: You must not use the Bot to harass, defame, distribute illegal content, engage in hate speech, facilitate criminal activity, or violate Discord rules. We reserve the right to block, ignore, or otherwise refuse to process commands that violate these Terms or applicable laws.

6. Moderation, Enforcement & Server Owner Controls

Server Controls: Server owners control the Bot’s permissions and may configure features. Removing permissions or uninstalling the Bot will stop its operations on that server.

Enforcement: We may, at our discretion, suspend features or block access from users or servers that abuse the Bot, attempt to game systems (e.g., poll voting), or engage in malicious activity. We may also remove or redact content that violates these Terms.

7. Data, Privacy & Security

Please see the Privacy Policy for details. For privacy or data deletion requests, join our support Discord server at https://discord.gg/5cqampCBYH and create a ticket using the /ticket create command.

8. Third-Party Services

The Bot integrates with third-party services (e.g., Discord, OpenTDB, MongoDB hosts). Your use of the Bot may be subject to those third parties’ terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and have no control over their operations.

9. No Warranty & Disclaimer

The Bot and Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by English law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Bot will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be legally limited or excluded under English law.

Subject to the above, the Controller and its maintainers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, or data arising out of or in connection with your use of the Bot. Our total aggregate liability to you for any direct damages is limited to £100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Controller and maintainers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Bot.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Bot or parts of the Services at any time for violations of these Terms or for operational reasons. You may remove the Bot from your server at any time by revoking its permissions and/or uninstalling it.

13. Changes to the Bot and Terms

We may update the Bot and these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms and an effective date in the repository and announce material changes in our support Discord server where feasible. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the law of the Controller’s jurisdiction (United Kingdom, England), to the extent permitted by applicable law. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction unless another dispute resolution method is agreed in writing.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be deemed modified to the extent necessary to make it enforceable; the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any referenced policies (Privacy Policy), constitute the entire agreement between you and the Controller regarding the Bot.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights or obligations as needed.
  • Contact: For questions about these Terms, or to make requests, please join our support Discord server at https://discord.gg/5cqampCBYH and create a ticket using the /ticket create command.
